Eco Sneakers collects all used sneakers and re-purposes them all over the world to people in need. The shoes are cleaned, sanitized then sent to disaster areas and dis-advantaged, both home and abroad. Eco Sneakers' efforts create part-time jobs for youth, college students and retired people.  Those shoes that are barely recognizable as shoes get re-donated and used to make such things as playground surfaces.

Reuse, Renew, then Recycle!   See what
Eco Sneakers is all about.

The 2017 WRM Old Shoe Drive!

WRM is teaming up with Eco Sneakers to make the best use of your used and worn out running shoes.    What kind of shoes you ask?

We will be accepting all of your old shoes!

From the gnarly, dog chewed, yard worked, paint splattered snarly shoes that have been to Hell and back to the gently used, "they didn't match my new Gamin band," with micro treads still on the outsole, we'll take them!

WRM works in conjunction with World Vision

World Vision is a Christian humanitarian organization dedicated to working with children, families, and their communities worldwide to reach their full potential by tackling the root causes of poverty and injustice.  Working in nearly 100 countries around the world, they serve all people, regardless of religion, race, ethnicity, or gender.

Often WRM is asked, "what percentage of the registration fee goes to World Vision?"   There are many variables which dictate the race's donation to Wold Vision, but we offer the following table, outlining our donations:

Katito, Kenya

The White River Marathon for Kenya has raised thousands of dollars for the town of Katito, Kenya, providing potable water wells, clothing and a host of other necessities.

The Cause(s)

WRM staff have visited Katito on several occasions to see the results of our efforts.  Our cause has helped to build a wind powered water pump and well.
